As they are being controlled, they can be seen to perform unusual manouevres – climbing into the sky, remaining stationary or making sudden turns or changes in altitude. A kiting session will always end with the kite falling to the ground. If let go by accident, a kite could concievably be carried a distance in the wind, during which it may twist and turn, but would eventually fall back to earth.
